So Yesterday, Thursday, we made our 10:30 am appointment as scheduled at the Mid-Atlantic Animal Specialty Hospital or "MASH" as it is known and Dr. Oakley took our case and my Lili and examined her and determined that he needed to d an MRI, but MRI facilities on animals are not as prevalent as ones for people so Lili and I took off to Vienna Virginia for a 1pm MRI appointment. We made it and were early and the people out there at animal scan were just wonderful with the Pickle. Whilst she was undergoing her scan I went for a walk and ordered lunch, but couldn't eat a whole lot as my tummy was all torn up for Lili. I went back as instructed 45 minutes later and Lili was in recovery and I got to lay with her on a big velvet blanket and snuggle with her until her tongue retreated back into her mouth then we were on our way back to the MASH unit!
We got back to the MASH unit and a friend of mine was very kind to bring my Mum up to meet us and we saw Lili before the operation. Once I got home the other dogs were looking and looking for her and I told Buddy that Lili had to stay at the hospital and he looked so sad. I know Buddy understood everything I said to him. The Vet called about 7:45pm to let us know that Lili had a ruptured and shattered disk at her T12 and T13 vertebrate and that he was able to remove most of it. It was such a draining day that I went to bed early.
Then this morning I called the hospital to see how my girl did through the night and the lady said that she was such a sweet girl and had done very well and even ate for them and she went to the bathroom by herself. All good signs that she is on the mend.
I want to thank everyone that has prayed, sent wishes and good thoughts for Lili. It is going to be a long road to recovery. Lili should walk again hopefully in about 4weeks. I know my girl is strong and will make it with all our love and support and help. Now if you will excuse me I am off to visit the patient!
