So we are off onto another city, on this our 8th Wedding Anniversary, and thank the inventor of the continental breakfast! Hubby can get coffee and I only have toast as an option, I don't like breakfast anyway so I don't care, then we check out of Newark and head north to New England....
Our travel takes us through New York City, okay it's upper New York City and we are on the interstate so its not like we have to figure out anything. Except for the $8.00 bridge toll for the George Washington bridge (yeah and its not even a fifth the length of the Bay Bridge that $2.50 is sounding like a bargain now huh?!!!!) anyway once over the bridge Connecticut is not far from our future and it is raining, but not too badly, we head to Mystic Seaport Connecticut, yes where Mystic Pizza was filmed, and check out the old seaport that has become a living museum (yep its $24 dollars each to get in!!!!) It was really grand though to walk through this old village and see how life on a seaport used to be. Also there is a place where they are rebuilding an old whale boat it was just fascinating. the people working in the old village we so nice and it was then that we noticed, we were surrounded by old people and then couldn't help but laugh at how we were two of them, because we're up early, we eat at diners and we settle in for the night around 8pm!!!! ha ha ha
Once we left Mystic Seaport we headed to Plymouth Massachussetts to see The Rock, Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower II, it was still raining so we didn't stay to long, but it looked like a quaint little village full of history. we took photos of Plymouth Rock and the boat and then headed north to our stopping place for the next 2 nights, Boston, our Hotel in Boston is Round and according to the History note the front desk gave us was an old gas tank before the turn of the 20th century and it was turned into a Hotel in 1998 and to our surprise we had a suite, sweet!, It is simply the nicest Hotel room I have ever stayed in.... EVER.... There was a couch and TV and then a door to the bedroom with another TV and a huge bathroom and WOW!!!!!! Well off to bed for another fun filled day, this time in Boston....
.....til next post....
