Cha Cha Changes..... here at the homestead!

So when last I left you had the first coat on the upstairs bathroom walls, well what a difference a week makes!  I completed painting the Bathroom and on Tuesday painted the dining room a wonderful yellow.  Did you know the color yellow is supposed to make you eat more!  I found that out and thought that yellow would be a great color for a dining room as hopefully when people are over and eating I will have no leftovers!!!  Leftovers are not my favorite thing to eat.

I have also been hanging more pictures throughout the house and can hear my Dad in my head with every nail I tap in.  He says "More holes in the walls, does Jim know?" My Dad disliked holes in the walls immensely!  I think he was half teasing, but definitely had strong feelings against putting holes in the walls.  Over the years I have become an expert in spackling those holes over making a wall look it never had a hole in it!!!

So on Thursday evening Jim met me at work and we shopped for more remodeling items and when I got home from work on Friday Jim had extended our peninsula by about 3 feet and had run electrical to it and got it all drywalled.  I used my spackling skills to apply the drywall mud, to cover the gaps, and when we got up on Saturday I sanded the mud down smooth and Hubby installed the 2 new cabinets that I ordered and we spent the better part of the day installing the new countertop, sink and faucet.  It looks wonderful, if I do say so myself!  My Hubby is the bestest ever!

My Mum and Sister stopped by later in the evening to check out the progress we are making and we all went out to a nice dinner.  The restaurant was a bit loud as in the bar area a lady was singing, but other than that it was a really nice evening.

Well since it is early on Sunday Morning and we have a day of visiting both our families I am going to head off to the market for the weekly supplies and that will be yet another job done!

So until next post.......
