We've been on vacation.....

So I know it has been a short while since the last update but we have been on vacation so the excuse is good this time!!!

It all started on Sunday October 3rd, we were heading north, to New England, by way of the Cape May Lewes Ferry, I know heck of a detour, but we were spending Sunday and Monday night in Newark New Jersey, so off we went. Up Rt4 and then on RT2 through Annapolis onto 50 east and over the Bay Bridge, otherwise known as The William Preston Lane Jr Memorial Bay Bridge, I know the things you learn on the road. to cross the bridge to Maryland's Eastern Shore cost $2.50 sounds pricey, but just you wait there is more!!!

Back to the day at hand! So once on the Eastern Shore we head east into Delaware and toward Lewes to catch the ferry, Delaware is full of Chicken farms as far as I can tell and old sports Ferrari's, there was plenty of them on the road. The weather was Okay and then we saw the Ferry, so it started to rain. I've never been on the ferry so it was fun to drive the car on it and get out and go upstairs and enjoy the ride, except for a bunch of kids whose parents didn't seem to notice that the kids were running wild. Although it was raining we braved the upper deck to escape the children and the noise of the dining room. We hid behind a wall that housed an unopen snack bar to shield us from the wet wind and took peeks here and there at what lay ahead..... It was New Jersey!!!

Once on the Jersey Shore (hee hee) we got back in the car and waited our turn to disembark the vessel!!! Then we got on the Garden State Parkway and headed north to Newark, our destination for the evening!!!! It felt really good to know that work was more than a week away, also we listened to the Ravens game on the satellite radio and YES!!! The ravens won!!! The Garden State Parkway was full of Roadwork, yes on a Sunday, so at times we crawled and eventually we made it to our Hotel. Since we had a day of driving, I am the navigator, we decided to eat at the Hotels restaurant, Maize, and it was delicious. I had the Chateaubriand with steamed vegetables and roast potatoes (YUM!) Hubby had the Prime Rib with broccoli and saffron potatoes (he said "YUM!" too!). then we headed back to our room and discovered that we could see the New York City skyline from our window, how fabulous!!!!! We settled in for the night and slept good......

.....til next post.....
