Episode 10 - Day 8 The Final Day

So this morning we are up early and we enjoyed the hotel breakfast, Hubby had the usual and I had really nice pastry I couldn't even begin to tell you what it was, but it had such a wonderful taste to it. After breakfast we grabbed our cameras and made our way to the bottom of our hill and caught the other hop on hop off bus and that took us around the more modern part of the city. It rained a little and for a few minutes we had to make our way down stairs on the bus until the shower passed. After the bus ride we wandered around in and out of the souvenir shops and bought a few things to remind us of our time in Lisbon and then we walked up the hill to the hotel to drop off our purchases. We set out again for the afternoon and we had a great time I couldn't help but thank our treadmill for helping me get up and down this hill so effortlessly!!! We caught the bus back out to Belem and the Pasties shop and of course had more pasties, they are so delicious and I bought a Portuguese cookbook that has the Pasties recipe in it so after we get settled (more about that in future posts) I will attempt to make this yummy delight! After Belem we made our way back to the Praca De Comercio and once again up our hill to drop off our purchases and head out to dinner... our last dinner here.

For our final trip down the hill we took a cable car back down to the Praca de Comercio and we walked through and checked out the menus at all the little bistros and we finally decided on one that was very quiet and our waiter had been to Calgary Canada and the West Coast of America, but told us he wants to visit Washington DC so that was interesting. He then sat another group at the table next to us and spoke in French. I couldn't help but marvel at the fact a lot of the people spoke more than 4 languages and could easily communicate with customers from all over the world. Dinner was as usual wonderful and we took a cable car back up the hill to pack and get ready for tomorrows travel day back home to our house, our families and the Wogadogs!!!!

til the final post from our trip...
