A Surprise Adventure!

So this was my weekend off and what to do.... We decided to discover where we live and so we got in the car and hit some of the local historical places. First stop was Cypress Swamp and if you have never been I recommend it. What a beautiful place and we saw a deer running through the wooded swamp and lots of butterflies. Did you know that the bald cypress trees that are located in the swamp are a cousin of the redwood trees that are along the northern Californian coast. They look like them too. Also pushing up from the swamp floor were nubs which I thought were baby cypress trees, but they are actually part of the root system that steadies the trees. We spoke with the Park Ranger and found out that there is a 600 year old bald cypress tree within the swamp and a group of lucky people get to go see it once a year. We definitely want to get on that list. Next we went to Jefferson Patterson Park and it is such a beautiful place I wish we had packed a picnic. We saw an Indian Village and it was very interactive we were able to go inside an authentic tee pee and 2 men were building a new roof panel for the tee pee as one of the panels had rotted through. I learned so much and we even got to go and walk along the Patuxent River.

After we got back from our day out we went to lunch before returning home to let the dogs out and have a good run around the yard. Since we had such a good lunch I didn't have to cook dinner either!!

I nearly forgot to tell you, but my bathroom is completed and to me it feels bigger. The new tile is just wonderful and I like it. I have now officially completed all my projects for this house and I guess will begin the process for moving. There is a new storage place that just opened I will perhaps look into renting a space, you know to unload some of my goods!!!, I have seen on the house shows on TV that staging is most important and showing the space in the house is the best way to unload it.... quickly!!!!

Hubby planted Tomatoes, Cucumbers and Green Peppers this year in the veggie patch and so far we have a lot of tomatoes that are riping up nicely and a couple of green peppers, but no cucumbers plenty of flowers though!

Well that is all that has happened here this last week if anything else comes up I will keep you posted! Til nest time.....
