It snowed!.............?

well sort of!  We awoke this morning to a gentle dusting of snow.  "We" didn't necessarily want to get up but Lili and Pepper felt it appropriate to fake the enthusiasm of going out until we got to the back door and then the brakes went on that would have impressed any driver about to rear end that car in front.  So I am at least up!  The Hubby is still tucked up in bed no doubt oblivious to all this action!

So Lili has headed back to bed and and Pepper is warmly curled up on a cushion, being the super princess dog that she is, and I am writing to you world!  I am also in the process of making a shopping list and plan to head out to the store shortly for our weekly supplies.

Yesterday was very exciting.  Hubby followed me to work and before I clocked in we selected seeds!  We are going to have our garden this year and I for one am so excited.  We have 2 types of tomatoes and lettuce, we got some herbs, we are going to do the spring onions this year and we got cucumbers, carrots, and baby choi cabbage.  The veggie bill will hopefully go down!  I hope to have a lot of tomatoes as I want to can for next winter and make my own spaghetti sauce, pizza sauce and salsa.  Fresh is always best!  We are also going to get a couple of bell pepper plants and for some reason we didn't sell any sage herb seeds so we will get a plant of that as well.  Gardening is going to be grand!

Such sad news yesterday from the music world.  Whitney Houston died at 48.  I remember being a young child when I first heard Whitney I think I was with my Sister and Cousins.  We would sing along to her songs and I remember we added the Children are our future song to our living room act!  It stood beside Holiday by Madonna, Breakaway by Tracey Ullman, Walk like an Egyptian by the Bangles and what ever Wham! song was popular at the moment.  We made up routines to these songs and everything.  Either way it is very scary to think that people I grew up idolizing as singers are slowly leaving our world (and they are only 10 years older than me)  First Michael, now Whitney and thankfully not George, although it was touch and go there for a month when he got pneumonia in Austria this past winter.  Such a shame for all of us that we have lost yet another fantastic star and voice.

So what is every ones plans for Tuesday or as I call it Valentines Day? (Hubby says it is just a reason for Hallmark to sell cards between Christmas and Easter, but he better have got me a card!)  I have to work until 7, but will be able to spend a little bit of time with the Hubby after work!

The company that I work for is making fantastic changes as the world now shops online and they are outfitting us with tools to process sales through the internet and make the Customers shopping experience more and more convenient, although I am still unsure how a kitchen is designed without at least one meeting, but I am up for anything and there are people out there that know exactly what they want.  I am also thrilled that my work has teamed with the NKBA, National Kitchen and Bath Association, and I will be able to get certifications that I probably could not afford on my own.  My company is paying for all classes and testing fees.  I am so excited by this and look forward to getting started.

Well I suppose it is time to hit the market before the milk and toilet paper panic sets in for those that fear that they will be snowed in so until next post.......
