How About This Weather....

So it has been a summer of interesting weather.  First the searing heat.  It was so hot and dry, very very unpleasant.  Then at the beginning of the month there was a bad storm and lighting hit a swamp in Virginia across the river and set it a blaze and for about 3 weeks it was so smoky and stinky smelling.  That was finally put out and then this past week on Tuesday just before 2pm eastern time an earthquake hit and has damaged some very historical buildings in Washington DC.  The National Cathedral lost a spire and the Washington Monument "aka" The pencil, has huge cracks in it and has been closed until repairs can be made.

WOW that is enough.... right?.... Wrong :(

Yesterday we had a very violent storm that produced a tornado close to the Navy Base, about 3 miles down the road from my work, and just because we need something else Hurricane Irene is expected here Saturday night into Sunday.  This is very, very scary.  The last time a Hurricane came through here her name was Isabel, are we destined for the "I" names?  Hopefully we will not have too bad a time, but it is quite strong and headed this way... OOOOO

In all this very, very sad news.  My beloved Orioles who as of today are a on a win streak, and that is not something that comes along everyday!, lost one of the greatest players this week.  Pitcher and Cy Young award winner Mike Flanagan was found dead at his home Wednesday and unfortunately it looks as though it was self inflicted.  so so very sad.  It was announced after the game Wednesday and has really taken everyone by storm.

On a brighter note my house is really coming along.  I have a bad feeling that there will be no progress this weekend because of the storm, but hopefully we can get something done.  Our Oktobeerfest is only 7 weeks away and things need to be accomplished!!!!  I think shopping for a couch is next on the list!

Well that is all I have to share today, I need to go to the store and pick up a few items, but I am scared that all the milk is gone already!! I think I will get some bread too!  Well I must go I have to go to work again today and I have a busy day scheduled!
