What a fun week this has been! I was off on Monday and Tuesday and I painted the pantry and then laid the floor! It looks great. Hubby is going to build the cabinets and then I can finish unpacking the kitchen.
I was also very successful in obtaining a couple of shelves for the guest bathroom and hung those up and I am so thrilled with how that room turned out :)
I also made spaghetti on Tuesday for dinner, homemade pasta is the best. We both had missed it greatly. then it was off to work for 3 days and on Friday I picked my Mum up on the way home and she spent the night here at the house while Hubby and I went to the Baltimore Orioles game for Floppy Hat Night and we stayed up in the city and had a really nice time. Saturday morning before we left we took the ballpark tour and learned fun facts about the stadium and team and Babe Ruth.
Then we headed home and my Mum said that the room was nice and the air was cold which was fantastic as Hubby had to replace a part on the air conditioning on Friday morning as the upstairs unit was blowing hot air. It has been disgustingly hot at game time Friday night it was 104 degrees and that was at 7pm so I can only imagine how hot is was in the middle of the day.
Today, Sunday, Hubby and I went window shopping for flagstones as Hubby wants to make a patio and we are going to need them. So if anyone knows of anyone giving away flagstones let me know as we discovered being natural is very expensive!!! The garden will look great though so as long as it is worth it I do not mind. Hubby and I also looked at some nice trees. My favorite is a Weeping Willow, but we also saw a nice Weeping Cherry, Japanese Maple, Japanese Sonwbell, Magnolia Jane and a Fig tree. We are planning to remove a couple of trees that are almost dead, branches are falling off them, so we are going to replace them with trees.
I am enjoying planning the yard and can't wait to plant the vegetable and fruit garden. We are also thinking of growing blackberries. Hubby and I have also been purchasing fruits and vegetables from local produce stands and they are cheaper and better than the grocery store stuff and have such a great flavor. Hubby grilled corn on the cob last night and it just popped in the mouth and was so so sweet. Eating healthy is fun!!!!!!
Well I guess that is a lot to share this week so until next post......
