Wowie Wowie.... What is going on?

Well it is official... SNOWPOCALYPSE has become SNOWMAGEDDON. In my life I have never seen so much snow. I cannot believe the amount of snow we are receiving and believe it or not where I live we are not even getting the worst of it... that is right approx 20" on the ground at one time is NOT the worst. I finally made it over to my mothers house on Monday, we live in the same neighborhood, I am supposed to go to work today and plan on it, but once again the snow is falling. I let out Buddy and Pepper around 7am and the ice rain was falling and before they came back in it had turned back to snow and then when Lili and Daisy wanted to go out about 8:15 an inch had already fallen, an inch in less than an hour and the weatherman, who has been correct on all these storms, is predicting it will not be over until 7pm tonight.

This leads to a few questions: 1. what are we going to do with all this snow? 2. does the snow call ahead with its arrival and departure times? 3. how much snow is everyone north of us getting if we are not getting the worst?

Because we live near the Chesapeake Bay and are on a peninsula, that sounds much more grand than it is!, we are on the snow/ice line so my next question is: Would you rather have 6 inches of snow or 1 1/2" of solid ice? I know the snow right at least it is manageable. Due to the weekend storm my tires went bald on my poor little car, we will get to that in a minute, I had to get new tires on my car and I want to send a big shout out to Joleyn at Mr Tire for fitting me in and to Chuck, the technician, who put my new tires on, the upside I got YOKOHAMAs I always wanted those type tires I think it looks good on a Toyota to have all the O's together! Driving home yesterday from work, Mr Tire is in the same parking lot as Lowe's, felt so good and my old tires are on their way to a school system to make swings, I donated them!

Okay back to the weather we are now past Blizzard force wind gusts (35mph winds to 74mph winds) we are going to be getting Hurricane force winds 74mph plus - UMMM I do not want to here that! This is no longer fun. I am waiting for the 7 day forecast. Word is that we are getting more snow Monday... HUMPH.. Not cool.

On to my car I drive a 2006 Toyota Corolla, now we are all very aware of all the recent Toyota recalls. the first one, late last year, was for model years 2002-2005 for the floor mats being too long and becoming lodged on the accelerator and causing the car to go even if the operators foot is on the brake. Then at the beginning of this year model years 2007-2010 were recalled because of a part used in the accelerator system that caused the car to rev and move when the operator also had their foot on the brake. Then this week the news is reporting that some 2009-2010 models have a problem with the anti-lock brakes. My question is: Really in 2006 the car was made correctly? I am taking it to Toyota to get checked anyway because I think that is the greatest luck I have had when it comes to a car. If 2006 is the only year that has no issues... How fabulous is that?

Well other than this weather event I have nothing else to say, so until next post....
