So much has happened, I will start with last Thursday when Maggles and I took the car to Annapolis for an oil change and new wiper blades, the old ones were literally falling apart (of course Maggles being a whiz with a glue gun tried to glue them back together). So of course the closer we got to Annapolis the more it looked like rain, until it was raining. Thank goodness we made it before the windshield was a hot glue mess!! So apparently there was also a recall that needed to be done so George, of course that was the shuttle drivers name, took us over to Annapolis Mall for a morning of shopping. It was not yet 10 am so no stores were open so we made our way down to the food court and had cinnasticks from Cinnabon for breakfast. Some of us need a lot of sugar to get going in the morning!!! We then made our way back up along the mall and stopped in at a couple of stores, you know hallmark, swarovski crystals and Williams and Sonoma!! OH YEAH and I got the coolest Brownie pan ever... It looks like a big bar of chocolate and of course I already made Brownies and the brownies looked so cool!!!! ( I used past tense there because they are all gone) We lunched at CPK, one of my favorite restaurants, and then headed to Marshall's to browse the racks. Maggles got a new purse for summer and I got two new shirts. We then called George to come and get us and whisk us back to get our car... The fun begins... Maggles apparently had other ideas and after we picked up our car she wanted to preview the new cars, specifically and I quote "The one that was advertised on the tele for ten thousand dollars" Yes I know what your thinking, but please read on... A salesman approached, as they do when two ladies hit a new car lot, and asked if we needed help, and boy did he get more than he bargained for with Maggles. She of course asked him when asked if we needed help "Where's that car I saw advertised on the tele for ten thousand dollars" and Dave or "Mr Dave" as Maggles had decided to call him took us over to the Nissan Versa a 1.6L car that due to the price was only available as a manual shift, had no radio, no air conditioning, a keyed entry and wind up crank windows, Maggles said "That's how you get me!" Mr Dave then took us over to the 1.8L which has everything in it including being an automatic and key less entry and all the modern conveniences we all know and love. Maggles announced "That's how you get me!" Mr Dave chuckled and asked where we were from. Maggles said "Scotland" and Mr Dave asked how long she had been here, due to her erratic behavior probably thought she had just got off the plane that day!, "1986" She replied and Maggles also volunteered "the car I have now is too big" Mr Dave asked what kind of car did she currently have and Maggles answered "It's a Nissan" Mr Dave said what kind of Nissan? "A gold one" I interjected its a 2002 Altima. Mr Dave probaly thought we were some kind of scam artists, I know I thought so!!! Maggles told him to "Tell me what its worth and maybe we will do business" I gave Mr Dave our keys and hoped we would see them again! (You all know how a car dealer is!) Mr Dave also brought back keys to the Versa and sat Maggles in it and was on his way to the passenger side when Maggles let him know "I don't have a license yet, I only have a learners permit" Poor Mr Dave stopped in his tracks I think he thought he was going on a test drive! He told Maggles he could spend all day with her. Needless to say we did not buy a car that day, but the future looks bright. Mr Dave has promised to call when the sales start!
Saturday Hubby and I attended a Birthday party and as usual Hubby was beaten by the little kids, I think he secretly likes it! We had a nice dinner with the family and then left just after 8pm, I did have to work on Sunday.
Ah Sunday the day the snow began, let me say that I have not seen snow that deep around here for years!! Fortunately for me I was already scheduled off on Monday and Tuesday otherwise I would have called in there was no way I could even get out of our driveway never mind up the hill. Everything was fine until 1am early Monday morning the Power went out. It came on for 20 minutes around 6am and then went out until Tuesday. We spent the night at Maggles house with the dogs and had a nice time and were so thankful for the escape from the cold. I was freezing Hubby did not go to work on Monday and wanted to take the Dogs to the beach for a walk and so we did then Lili and Daisy took off in a tire track and I fell like a fat girl and got soaking wet, of course we did not know our power was going to be out all day. We took Maggles to dinner at the local Ledo's, to which she had never been, and had a nice dinner.
Tuesday, Hubby went to work and left Maggles and I to be together and we had some fun. First I cleaned off Maggles car and called my house to discover that the power was back on! Yea! We packed up the dogs and headed for my house to drop them off and do a little laundry, Maggles dusted for me, THANK YOU! and then we cleaned off my car. Once we had built up an appetite we decided to go to Roy Rogers for lunch. Maggles wanted fried chicken for lunch and I had decided to announce everything like Oprah.... We are having FRIIIIED CHIIIIKEEN for LUUUUNNCH! Yep we were slowly going nutso! It also took us 20 minutes to get off my street and on the road. After lunch we went marketing and headed back to Maggles house to wait for Hubby to pick me up. We were watching The real housewives of New York City when the power went out again! This time I took a nap. Hubby came and got me around 5pm and all the power was on at our house and Maggles house!!!
To add insult to injury I still have not won the Mega Millions and am starting to take it personal!!! Ha Ha Ha!!!
That brings you right up to date! Til next post....
